MattBoySlim  So, in case you haven't noticed (and if you haven't, I don't blame you...our site seems only accessible to me and my family members...) I've been working on a new design for the site. Not so much the overall design, yet. I've been focusing on that badly programmed Flash mutant at the top of the page. Yes, it's slightly reminiscent of Homestar. I'd rather call it an homage. Shad calls it a HOME-age. Still, it'll be neat and entertaining when it's done, dripping with Genki-web style rediculousness. And, hey. I've only been working on it for two or three nights, and had no clue what I was doing in the beginning. I'd only done crappy little crap-crap animations before. Had to teach myself how to make buttons. Buttons that DO things. That's hard. I'm even learning how to use ActionScript, which is Flash's own little programming language. Seeing as I dropped out of college in part due to C++ (which this is eerily similar to), that really saying something. I miss working on this site, and really want to try to revive the good times it brought about. Watch this space for continual progress as we near the acquisition of NEW HOSTING!!!!!!! It'll be neat. Like a live, up to the minute behind the scenes. But only if you can access this site. Which most can't. So, it's neat for me and maybe my cousin Dan. Except he goes to school and does things. Just like my buttons. See what I did there? That's right.
Oh, and by the way.........Yes, L'il Mighty Doom's shirt does say "No Richards". Y'know, with the red circle/line thingy. Like Ghostbusters. Except, it's like......Richards-busters. Or something less lame.

dj_xero yo check it out the site seems to be goin okay now, i've figured out the ftp thing and i think or dns names are resolved better now... i'm hoping. but still we're not to sure what to do with everything here, if you are at all interested in keeping this site up and goin, and are not an active member of our forums, please email me here. still my dj site will continue no matter what so everyone can here my jams... cuz it's a jam.

Every day I had planned on taking pictures, it was cloudy, or otherwise impossible to get a good shot. So I took this on the way home. That's not a Photoshop job, by the way.

Since Shad has sent no pictures, I have decided to spice them up with ones I found from the good ol' Google Image Search. I'm sure you'll barely be able to tell the difference. Yes, I realize I'm terribly incompetent when it comes to images and text formatting/wrapping/etc. Shad will just have to fix it when he brings his own images. He'll also have to tell me how to make it look less like crap, so I don't do this again. Enjoy!!!!

MattBoySlim Well, you'll all be interested to know that I finally got my ATI All-in-Wonder Radoen 9700 Pro working. Evidently there was an undocumented setting in the new BIOS of my Motherboard that was made just to get the new Radeons to work. And, yes. By "interesting"I did mean "morbidly boring".

Anyway, we have a new segment here at Genki-Web. One of teh founding fathers of Genki has selflessly volunteered to endure greulling trials in the pursuit of International and Universal Truth. Shad is currently deep in the heart of Deutchland, home of the Huns. OOPS!!!! I mean our GOOD FRIENDS the Germans! Being the intrepid reporter he is, he'll be giving us his impressions of this strange uncharted land throughout the week in a segment I like to call Ach Du Leiber! I believe Mr. Doom is working on an editorial of some sort, and my brother is the planning stages of a point/counterpoint with Mr.Asbestos, or maybe he's just piss drunk in an alley somewhere off the Jersey Turnpike, a bottle of J.D. (best music evar) in one hand, and a front page of the Cecil Whig's sport section in the other, but what's that bulge in his pants? it's his MarkTwain award, for safe keeping.

Finally, a new chapter of Real MFGs is available, so please read it. There's going to be some updates to the Hamstah Gangstaz page soon, as we're starting production (finally!) on the second episode, so please stay tuned for more!

Been busy moving my girlfriend to her new place, gonna be nice having her closer, soooo nice. The FranklinMills DDR Phreak tourney is coming in 2 weeks, that's gonna rock hard. the ftp being back up is good, and my god, it's gettin warmer outside! (except last weekend when it snowed... that was wierd. STRAWNGBAD!

MattBoySlim Ok. The FTP is officially back up again. Over two feet of snow and my company refuses to pay us for work on Monday. Even though they closed the office and told us not to come in. Dyrks. For those who don't live around the PA/DE/NY area and haven't heard, we had an enormous snow storm that resulted in over 24 inches of white death by Monday afternoon. Here's some pics from Monday morning outside my girlfriend's apartment.

I just watched the first Animatrix short, and if you know what's good for you, you'll make sure you have the latest version of Quicktime and you'll get your ass over there and watch it too! dj_xero Updated 2 tracks on my site, slowly evolving and changing the way I record music, more turntable based, and utitlize Cubase, rather than just using Reason to sequence sounds over and over in loops, to record into Cubase live, and manipulate it from there... much more intuitive and creative. I AM PLEASED.

Shad I just noticed that all the stuff posted here in the new year still have the year 2002. Oh well. I had an interesting piece of news I thought was worth putting up on the front page. One of our favorite sites, Penny Arcade, has a few strips with a recurring Cardboard Tube Samurai joke. It seems that CTS has become so popular, there's a petition to add him into SoulCalibur II. I'm not sure how effective this is going to be, seeing as they're about 90% finished with the port of the game to consoles. But, I signed it to show my support for CTS, now my favorite joke on PA. MattBoySlim Christmas rocks, and so do the new forums!! (Although they've been givin' me a little trouble...) Good Lord, it's been quite some time since my last post!! Been busy with shopping and new job and such. That, and I'm a lazy, lazy, sloth-like bastard. In the near future, look for a new Retro-Gaming review, a review on Metroid Prime (mmmmmm...), an article titled "The Dichotomy of Samus Aran", and the long promised "Thoughts On All of Evangelion". Boy, that last one just fills me with foreboding. Gotta watch it all again. It's all good though and deserves a third viewing. Also, in the nearer future, look for monkeys flying out of my butt!! Hope everyone had a good holiday!!!! (I'm sure Mike Myers won't mind me stealing a joke or two. He probably doesn't remember Wayne's World anymore anyway, what with all that Austin Powers and everything. (Not that I didn't buy Goldmember on DVD and love every gaddamn second of it...).)

Shad Well, we know that everyone has been busy. The holidays are definitely upon us and everybody has their own activities and shopping to do. Fortunately, the Mighty Doom has kept vigilant, even while our FTP was down, and has been keeping us fresh with lots of new material. Xero is trying to fix his busted PC, and I'll be doing some more reviews soon. But for now, enjoy these reviews from Doom: Wes Craven presents "They", a video game review for Silent Hill 2, and Doom's Guide to Advertising. Also, as a special gift to you, and to make up for our lack of updates, I'm posting Chapter 15 of Real Muthafuckin' G's for you enjoyment. It is the last chapter in the first book of this great saga. Shad Well, sorry it's been so long since we updated. The FTP was working for a few days but the holidays have been keeping us busy. I have some material that I need to update, but I haven't formatted it yet, so you can probably expect an update tomorrow or Wednesday, as long as the FTP stays up and doesn't ban me or change our password again. MattBoySlim Well, I just wrote a short little piece on the controversial DOOM III alpha. No matter what you hear, it's the most incredible thing ever to grace this pile of junk I call a PC. If you happen upon it, give it a try. Just try to keep in mind that it is a super-super-early version of the game and shouldn't be anything to judge the final product by. That being said, DOOM III will rock my ass eight ways to Sunday and rest assured I'll be in line to buy it the first day!!
