Hey folks, just wanted to let you all know how the Cowboy Bebop Marathon went! Well, it was a blast! People showed up, and a great time was had by all. People brought their own booz, and I made some yummies including a crock pot filled with Kielbasa, Lil Smokies, and Coctail Weenies, a pot full of Hibachi's rice, and of course the obligatory junk food and sodas. Here's the timetable of the event:
Noon - 12:30 = Went to the store to get some party goods.
12:30 - 2:00 = Watched the first 5 episodes of the Cowboy Bebop series. MattboySlim showed up on time, right as I was pulling up from going to the supermarket. He brought the Cowboy Bebop: Best Sessions that he got at Best Buy, which had 6 episodes remastered by Shinichiro Watanabe himself in 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound.
2:00 - 3:00 = MattboySlim had to go back to pick up his girlfriend, who was waiting for her landlord to help install a new deadbolt. During this hour I took some time to cook up some of my (quickly becoming famous) Hibachi's rice and stirred up the crock pot with some Chili and Garlic sauce. Yum!!
3:00 - 4:30 = Watched episodes 6 through 10 of the series. DJ Xero showed up at about 4:00 and brought some John Courage.
4:30 - 10:45 = MattboySlim and his girlfriend Jenn showed up around this time. As we watched more of the series, Joe and Kinard (Holobob and Necrosis - UN Synaps) arrived around dinnertime. After watching up through episode 23, we took a short break for some food, bathroom, and booz.
11:30 - 12:30 = Upon the arrival of Ian and his girlfriend Kaytie, we watched the Cowboy Bebop movie. We watched the film between episodes 23 and 24, as the director intended. The reason is because events in 24, 25 and 26 are supposed to take place after the story written for the movie. This made logical sense to me after we saw the movie and continued the series afterwards. MattboySlim and Jenn left after that.
12:30 - 1:45 = Watched episodes 24, 25 and 26, thus finishing the series and the marathon. Everyone was fat, happy, and slightly inebriated by either booz, sleep, or a combination of the two. Everyone was out by 2:00 am, which was fine by me since I had been half-drunk and sleepy for about 3 hours.
Well that's how it went down. Altogether the event was a success, I'd say. Here's some pics.
I might be planning another anime event for after the holidays, or possibly some weekend in December. More on that later, it will probably involve the local Delaware Anime group I joined a few months ago on Yahoo. We'll see how that turns out. If you want to email me about that or anything else, feel free. |
