Phase 3: Party On

Everything was ready to go by late afternoon. Around 7:30 or so, people started to arrive.  Ken and I had dibs on the first shot.  If you take a good look, you can see the Jagermeister going right up my nose.  Obviously, my track needed some last minute work. There's my Father-in-law and his girlfriend Maureen on the right.  Michele Robinson (whom you might recognize from the Jones Holiday Soda review) is facing away from the camera.

Featured on the left is my Mom and her friend Helen.  On the right side of that one, my sister seems to be getting a massage from the first person to show up to the party.  On the right, you'll see my cousin Matt Waldron and me (Matt Waldron) after drinking shots poured by my uncle....Matt Waldron.  To celebrate the Triple Matt (or Matt Trick) we made like Kong and pounded our chests in victory.  FYI, my Uncle Matt is Matthew Patrick Waldron Jr., his son is Matthew Patrick Waldron III and I'm Matthew Patrick Waldron II.  Don't bother asking why I'm "II" and he's "III", it's a long explanation.  Suffice it to say that my family looked up the proper naming convention before finalizing it.

On the left is Jenn's Dad again with Michele R.  The mustachioed fellow who seems to be grabbing at one of the army men is the aforementioned Uncle Matt speaking with my Aunt Betsy.  On the right in the pink is Jenn's boss Sherri with my not-boss Debbie.  When I took a look at the pictures later in the week, I was disappointed at how few pictures I actually took of the party.  I would've liked to get a picture of all the people that showed up from my work.  They were all simultaneously delighted and appalled at the severity of my drunkenness.  I didn't even get a picture of Jack...or Keith and Cindy or Pernell...or most people.  I suppose I felt that I was too drunk to handle Jack's nice new digital camera at the time.  Perhaps someone else took pictures?  I'll find out.  Also, McGarvey took a lot of video while he was there, so I may be able to set up some streaming clips from that.  We'll see.

On he left is my sister-in-law Lisa and Michele Robinson again.  On the right is a touching moment with my parents, proving retired people have more fun.

Below are a few picture to give you an idea of what the garage was like once a lot of people started showing up.  Again, this was still relatively early...I didn't take any pictures of the garage when it was really packed.  Try to imagine twice as many people packed into the same small space.  You almost had to elbow your way in.  That means successful party, in my book.

Here's the same two pictures, minus the flash.  I tried to give an idea of the actual atmosphere, but I was obviously unable to hold the camera still enough.  The large glowing orb at the top of the picture is the UDO (Unidentified Disco Object).

There's cousin Matt again (or "Trey" as his cup reads) and golden (or Nate, if you like).  My Uncle John Spina seems disapproving at first, but the luge always gets a smile.

So, there's Michele Robinson.  This time she's joined by Michelle Reed and my wife Jenn.  Sadly, that's where the pictures stopped.  Until, that is, I was told to run upstairs and grab a shot of my cousin Mark at the end of the night.  He proves that you can have too much of a good thing.  He was up and about the next day, though, not much the worse for wear.

So there you have it!  I may add more pictures, etc. they become available.  I promise I'll remember to take more next year.  Man, I don't wanna even think about it.  How the hell are we gonna top this one?  I'm sure we'll come up with something. There were more people by far than any other year.  If it gets any bigger, it may need to be moved to a larger venue.  We'll see how it goes.  Anyway, thanks for taking the time to check this out.  Hope to see you there next December!
