iPhone, iPod Touch now have TurboGrafx-16 emulation Friday, May 30th, 2008

Splatterhouse!! According to Joystiq, a new emulator has been released for iPhone and iPod touch, thanks to ZodTTD. So, now you can play your favorite TG16 games, like Bonk and Keith Courage!

Actually, I was already familiar with the ZodTTD group, as I use their excellent (and recently updated) SNES emulator snes4iphone.

Also, I want to add that ZodTTD has just added sound support for their SNES emulator, and I am eternally grateful for that, even though I’m 95% finished with Final Fantasy VI.

ZodTTD has also released other emulators for iPod Touch and iPhone, namely:

psx4iphone
gpSPhone
genesis4iphone
gameboy4iphone

Jake Gyllenhaal, in my Prince of Persia? (It’s more likely than you think.) Friday, May 30th, 2008

Jake_Gyllenhaal_brokeback.jpg So, this may be old news to some of you, but it’s new to me. Apparrently, Disney has chosen “Brokeback Mountain” co-star Jake Gyllenhaal to play the role of the prince in “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time”. This is probably the first time you have read words “Brokeback Mountain” and Disney in the same sentence, so if you’re confused I will understand.

From CountingDown.com:

“Borys Kit reports; “Jake Gyllenhaal and Gemma Arterton will star in “Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time,” Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ adaptation of Ubisoft’s popular video game. Mike Newell is directing.

In the fantasy adventure, Gyllenhaal will play Dastan, a young prince in 6th century Persia who must join forces with Tamina (Arterton), a feisty and exotic princess, to prevent a villainous nobleman from possessing the Sands of Time, a gift from the gods that can reverse time and allow its possessor to rule the world.”

Lost Season Finale Thursday, May 29th, 2008

lost-season2.jpg

Well, it’s official. Lost finally feels like it is back in the place where it was at the end of Season 1. The mystery and wonder has returned.

I have to say that I am so much more satisfied with this season over last season. A lot of questions were answered; maybe even more than the new questions that arose. What was even more surprising was that some of the most perplexing pieces of this season’s puzzle actually were explained a bit, instead of waiting for another 10-20 episodes to explain it all.

There’s definitely a lot more to the story that can be played out next year. But overall, I’m very happy with the way this season progressed, the new characters that were introduced, and old characters that reappeared whom we thought were long gone. Looking forward to the next season.

I guess Heroes and The Venture Brothers will have to hold me over in the meantime!

Indiana Jones and the Little Green Men Thursday, May 29th, 2008

So, I have some mixed feelings over the latest installment in the 2nd-greatest franchise of all time. I think I need to watch it one more time, but after my first viewing I felt a bit let-down and disappointed. I mean, aliens, really?

So, I’m interested in hearing other people’s opinions. So, what did you think of the latest Indy?

DEVO, In MY Rock Band?!?! Friday, May 23rd, 2008

 Joystiq's Devo/Rock Band picture

…It’s more likely than you think.  I just read this article on Joystiq, and after I stopped gasping in joy and disbelief long enough, I decided to post the news here to share it with the 5 people who know about this site.  Not only are some Devo songs coming to Rock Band, but they actually re-recorded “Through Being Cool” just for the game, replacing all the synth solos & leads with guitar!  Somebody slap me dead in the face so I know I’m not dreaming.  Good God, it’s from a video interview.  I’m off to watch that now.
